FAA Remote Tower Technical Requirements

The system-level requirements for cameras, sensors, displays, and communications.

The FAA's technical requirements for Remote Tower Systems define how the equipment must perform: camera and sensor specifications, display reconstruction, acceptable latency, redundancy and failover, communications, and integration with existing air traffic systems.

Together with the operational visual requirements and the Operational Safety Assessment, they form the basis on which a non-federal remote tower is evaluated for acceptance in the National Airspace System.
