Overview
CANSO, the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation, publishes the Guidance Material for Remote and Digital Towers, now in Edition 2 (July 2023). It gives air navigation service providers and other parties an introduction to the concept and supports decision-making before and during an implementation programme, aligned with the ICAO effort to develop common standards. Edition 2 expanded the section on centralisation of services and information and added a new section on Lifecycle Management, breaking the lifecycle of a digital tower into stages with considerations for each.
