European standards body; Working Group 100 writes the ED-240 series for remote and virtual towers.
EUROCAE develops European standards for aviation equipment and systems. Its Working Group 100 (WG-100) covers remote and virtual towers and produces the ED-240 series, the Minimum Aviation System Performance Standards (MASPS) for Remote Tower Optical Systems. The series is MASPS in every edition, never MOPS. The current in-force edition is ED-240B, published July 31, 2023, which integrates surveillance sensors with the optical system; ED-240C is in draft with a target of December 31, 2028. EUROCAE documents are copyrighted, purchased, and linked at source rather than rehosted. EUROCAE also recognizes IFATSEA as the voice of air traffic safety electronics personnel.
